Sounds from the Depths - Sound Drama Files

A sound drama is like a radio play, a story that's told completely by audio. There are six Sailormoon sound drama CDs (three for the first season, two for the R season, and one for S), and from the stuff I've heard, they are all HILARIOUS. Where else would you find Makoto falling in love with a gay guy, Haruka working at a fish store, Kunzite ordering hot dogs (and popcorn and ice cream), or Mamoru transforming in a ramen shop with "Tuxedo Power, Make Up"? *rofl* ^^;;;

Obviously, Michiru only appears in the one sound drama CD for the S season, and though she usually has very small speaking roles, these files are funny and definitely still worth a listen. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Many huge thanks to the defunct Sailormoon Music Archives for the wonderful .mp3's found here.

P.S. If you have trouble downloading the larger sound files even after repeated tries, let me know.

Haruka no Fukou - Semari Kuru Hametsu no Yokan

*** track 10 - Haruka, Sakanaya-san de Baito Suru (.mp3 file, 2.8MB)
*** track 11 - Haruka ga Masaka Kondo wa Gay Bar de!? (.mp3 file, 1.0MB)
*** track 12 - Michiru wa Nande mo Shitteiru? (.mp3 file, 1.4MB)

here is a translation to the dialogue in tracks 10 through 12

Michiru doesn't appear in track 11 and has only one line in track 10, but they've been included here because the files together tell one story, and because it's funny in any case. :p Since the translation explains everything, just download the files and read the translation as you listen - it's quite funny. ^^;;;

Muhitochou Hen

*** track 15 - Muhitochou no Sailor Senshi-tachi (.mp3 file, 2.7MB)
*** track 16 - Ramenya no Mamoru (.mp3 file, 1.7MB)
*** track 17 - Tuxedo Kamen, Muhitochou Sanjou (.mp3 file, 1.8MB)

Michiru doesn't appear in track 16, but I've included it here because it's part of the story and it's funny, damnit! :p What happens in track 15 is that the Inner Senshi (plus Uranus and Neptune) are stranded on a desert island, and they come up with the brilliant idea that since Tuxedo Kamen always psychically knows when Sailor Moon is in danger and always appears at those times, they should all attack Sailor Moon to get him to appear and help bail them out. The track, which begins with Michiru and Haruka acting lovey-dovey, ^_- ends with Uranus attacking.

In track 16, Mamoru is at a ramen stand eating his ramen when he gets the usual "twinge" of imminent disaster, causing him to nearly choke on his food. :p He transforms with "Tuxedo Power, Make Up!" to become the "tuxedo-suited beautiful soldier guy Tuxedo Kamen" (don't ask -_-) and goes off to help the Senshi. Track 16 ends with the Senshi wondering why their idea isn't working, but then, in track 17, a rose strikes the ground, and Tuxedo Kamen appears. However, when the Senshi ask him for help to take them back to Japan (they don't even have boats!), he asks, "How?" as he hasn't the foggiest idea either. Obviously, their brilliant idea wasn't such a hit after all.

Mamoru no Pure na Heart Hen

*** track 18 - Nayamu Mamoru (.mp3 file, 3.0MB)
*** track 19 - Mamoru no Kokoro no Naka Kaisha Nite (.mp3 file, 4.4MB)
*** track 20 - Usagi, Ikaru (.mp3 file, 1.1MB)
*** track 21 - Mamoru no Kokoro no Naka, Jitaku Nite (.mp3 file, 1.1MB)
*** track 22 - Mamoru no Kokoro no Naka de Usagi wa Doko Ni!? (.mp3 file, 1.9MB)

here is a partial translation to the dialogue in tracks 18 through 22

In this set of sound drama files, Michiru only appears in track 19, and even then she only speaks at the beginning and end of the track. If you're not interested in non-Michiru sound files, just download track 19 and read the partial translation linked right above to help set the story for you. This set of sound files together tell a single story, called "Mamoru's Pure Heart." Basically, the gist of the plot is that Mamoru, worried over the fact that he might not have a pure heart (since all the Sailor Senshi had their heart crystals stolen, while he did not), goes with Usagi to Ami in search of help. Ami has a device with a monitor that allows one to see the dreams and hopes inside a person's heart, so Mamoru gets in the device, and Usagi and Ami watch what happens on the monitor screen. The outcome ALWAYS cracks me up... *L* And that's all I'll say about it, :p so read the translation!

Ending

*** track 26 - Ending (.mp3 file, 2.4MB)

The sound drama ends with each seiyuu (voice actor) saying a short little piece in farewell; first Mitsuishi Kotono (Usagi) speaks, then Hisakawa Aya (Ami), Tomizawa Michie (Rei), Shinohara Emi (Makoto), Fukami Rika (Minako), Ogata Megumi (Haruka), Katsuki Masako (Michiru), Furuya Tohru (Mamoru - though, in this CD, Furuya also played a person running a chicken kabob stand, a "yakitoriya no oyaji" o.o;;;), Uemura Noriko (Kaolinite), Hiyama Nobuyuki (Hiyama played a bunch of minor male roles, such as the gay guy Makoto falls in love with and the guy Haruka crashes into on her motorcycle), and lastly Kamiya Akira (Professor Tomoe).
