| (personal favorite characters are listed in red) - Tenoh Haruka (Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon) - grade-school-aged Chiba Mamoru (Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon R movie) - Emeraude-hime (Magic Knights Rayearth) - Ikari Shinji (Shinseiki Evangelion) - Sizer (Hameln no Violin Hiki [TV]) |
other characters that I know she's played:
| - Kurama (Yuu Yuu Hakusho) - Tsukishiro Yukito/Yue (Card Captor Sakura) - Eagle Vision (Magic Knights Rayearth) |
why I like her:
Ogata Megumi's acting voice and singing voice both span an amazing range that stretches from a deep/husky tenor in such roles as Tenoh Haruka in Sailormoon to light and girlish in roles like Emeraude-hime in Rayearth (then there's Sizer from Hameln, whose voice is somewhere between Ogata's deep and high voices *_*). It's a very beautiful voice - and sexy! :p The deep/husky qualities of her low voice (which I absolutely love, along with her amazing talent for acting and singing xp), has landed her quite a few roles in which she plays young men, such as Ikari Shinji in Evangelion (amazing acting x.x), Kurama in Yuu Yuu Hakusho (her very first role), Eagle Vision in Rayearth, and a young Chiba Mamoru in the Sailormoon R movie. Ogata is consistently my most favorite female seiyuu.

the many faces of Ogata Megumi O.o *_*
Ogata Megumi, Ogata Megumi, and Ogata Megumi, :p from the cover of her Multipheno album.
is she trapped, or breaking free?
A large pic of Ogata from Multipheno - she always looks awesome in a man's suit and tie. *_*
"gentleman" x.x;;;
Ogata in a pinstripe suit. *_* She's holding a glass of wine, but I had to crop out that part of the picture since the picture took up two pages of the CD booklet and the staples holding the booklet together got in the way. ;_;
Rosie the Riveter
*L* Sorry, but that's what this pic reminds me of. ^^;
urm... --;
As much as I hate seeing seiyuu posing with cigarettes, this is a COOL picture (besides, it's not lit, so it's apparently just a prop!). ;_;
a close-up of Ogata (larger version, 94K)
This picture is from an article in the seiyuu magazine Voice Animage. As far as I can tell, it is Ogata herself who wrote the article, and her column seems to be a regular feature for Voice Animage. This picture was scanned by Nna.
Ogata in concert
A full-length picture of Ogata in concert - this wasn't a vocal concert, but a "live drama theater" show in which she narrated a story and provided the voices for the characters while a silent video which corresponded to her acting was shown to the audience.
"It's Ogata Megumi's love, baby!"
This picture is from an ad for Ogata Megumi's radio show, entitled: "Ogata Megumi no Ai da ze! Baby!" o.o;;;
