what would you do if we were dropped into the sea?
would you drown?
would you swim?
would you stretch your arms to me?

would your salty hands meet mine as you pull me through the wet?

what would you do if we were making love under smooth sheets?
would you shiver?
would you quake?
would you call out with joy of me?

would your furtive lips meet mine in a magnetized duet?

fog has a way of drifting in and out against the sun
morning breaks
the vapors lift
and clarity's begun

yet at night return the eddys that coalesce in grey
nonlight spreads
the darkness mists
and once more retreats the day

and so the heart moves too, thrumming back and forth offshore
clear mind fades
chest feels risks
and still i ask for more

what would you do if we were dropped into the sea?
would you paddle?
would you splash?
would you give your breath to me?

would your salty lips meet mine as you hold me in the waves?

what would you do if we were making love, rough, hard, and sweet?
would you quiver?
would you shake?
would you come take all of me?

would your furtive hands meet mine, fingers twined in braids?

love has a way of drifting in and out like waves on shore
high crests break
the wet recedes
yet then it's back for more

yet at times the water's calm, and with it peace and joy
gentle tides
with their caress
and we become two lovestruck boys

so we take each other too, hearts moving with hard thrums
limbs entwined
blood does pump
our boundaries come undone

so would you stretch yourself to me and embrace me in the waves?

what would you do if we were dropped into the sea?
would you drown?
would you shiver?
would you give your breath to me?
