Ultramarine Is Great

To forewarn the reader, this composition is nothing but a praise of one color: deep blue. Deep blue is the color of early night, of the ocean, and of many precious minerals and stones. Some good examples are sapphires, lapis lazuli, and azurite. This color therefore is an abundant one which is all around us. The color blue, especially deep blue, is tranquil, calming, and pure. Innocence and serenity is the best decription for this color. It is also a triumphant, forceful color. When the topic of discussion is the awarding of prizes at a competition, the blue ribbon winners are the people who are in first place.
Yet at the same time, deep blue is a mysterious, dark, anxious, and intense color. This is because blue is an embodiment of calmness and power at the same time, and therefore it becomes a contradictory color. Blue is simple and complex at the same time.
Not only is blue a really neat color, but it is also important. In many religious depictions of Jesus and the saints, there is crushed lapis lazuli in the blue paint which is the color for the clothes of the saints and Jesus. A deep blue-violet color was the color for the clothes of the nobility in certain countries, in some of which there were laws against clothes that were this color if a person was not of the nobility. The term royal blue is now the name for this color. Also, when the settlers were first in America, the dye indigo was a very important crop.
Not only is blue one of Earth's most appealing colors, but it is also very important in specific ways. If only the world was colorless except for blue!
