Legalize Them Whores!

Legalization of prostitution will abolish sexually transmitted diseases by way of prostitution. Prostitution's "black market" will also disappear if legalized. Notice that Sweden is doing just fine with its legal girls. :P People have argued that if legalized, prostitution will promote adultery, and that is not true. So many people are already committing adultery: it's not the legal aspect of prostitution that influences a person's decision to commit adultery; rather, it is the hormonal and/or emotional aspect. And when "hormones and/or emotions" are involved, legality usually won't be an issue. Legalized prostitution will merely make sure that no sexually transmitted diseases result from the adultery or what have you.

Frankly, if I was married and my man was committing adultery with cute guy prostitutes behind my back, I'd break up with him on the spot, but at the same time I'd want the prostitutes he was with to be legal, for the sake of MY health. I'd want there to be a legal procedure where a customer has to prove they're clean before they can see a prostitute (who also should be proven to be clean). If prostitution was NOT legal some two-timing :P person could have a VERY good chance of transmitting a disease to their innocent partner(s).

I have been told that prostitution is degrading to women (and men), and I agree: if a man or woman is forced into prostitution when it's illegal, or if they are tricked into it, or if they don't want to do it yet feel it's the only way to get money and live since they have no alternate plan, then it is DEFINITELY degrading. However, if prostitution is made legal and if people are not choosing between prostitution and poverty, then this problem would not arise. In my opinion, based on simple supply and demand, there will always be people who turn to prostitution for the money (it's the oldest profession, after all :P), so at least by making it a legal thing, it wouldn't be a degrading thing as it would be if it was an illegal career.

People consider it morally wrong to make sex such a public issue or to "promote" sex by legalizing prostitution. Personally, I don't agree, even if I would never visit a prostitute (the idea of having to PAY for sex kind of turns me off :P). I knew what "masturbation" and "orgasm" meant when I was eight (my dad is a doctor and had lots of books lying around) and I did not turn into an oversexed, perpetually horny social outcast (though I'll let my friends be the judge of that *LOL*). On the contrary, I consider myself well-adjusted (but my room is a bit messy *g*), with a nice circle of friends and a responsible, sensible, and cheerful attitude towards sex. My responsibility is what made me turn down a veritable proposition for sex from an older man; my sensibility lets me know that some of my friends and relatives are offended by sex so I refrain from talking about it in their company; and my cheerfulness always gives me a level head about the whole issue.

So yeah, legalize them whores, and I mean that in the most loving way possible. ;)
