4 August 1999 - Tommy Hilfiger
- flames received concerning the Citadel -
| Here is the second flame! XD Again, I received it in my guestbook: Guest: Amy (using Mozilla/4.61 [en] (Win95; I), 152.169.69.228) Date: 4 August 1999 17:10 Alias (if any): daughter of evil Gender: It depends. Birthdate: 4 May 1985 My Zodiac Sign: Taurus (Apr. 21 - May 21) Homepage: la la la dont remember I Come from: I came from a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. This is my first time signing this guestbook. I found this site through a friend and I think your HTML work deserves a C-. I came to see The Sailormoon Citadel, and the site I liked best is Shut Up, Ganymede! I'm very skizomatic, Chinese cuisine is my favorite food, and by the way, who's Ikeda Mitsuru? I liked how organized your page was, it didnt seem cluttered. But what really disturbed me were your opinion pages. I mean, did you have to be so mean about some of them? SO what if Ami wears, in your opinion, "drippy/dorky clothes"? Like Tommy Hilfiger is knocking on your door for the latest fashion tips. >:P And you should get rid of that pic of the gay guys on your guestbook page. It's sick. You should try to edit your opinion pages. Some of the things you say sound mean and spiteful. I hope you aren't one of those "popular" people in real life who judge people by how they look and how smart or "geeky" they are or look. Overall, a nice page. I'd recommend it to my friends, but I'd forewarn them of the opinion pages. Sayonara. ---------- Okay, so this Amy is not only a homophobe, but one of those Sailormoon fans who can't accept that some fans have opinions different than hers... What a combo! XD Here's my reply: <<what really disturbed me were your opinion pages. I mean, did you have to be so mean about some of them? SO what if Ami wears, in your opinion, "drippy/dorky clothes"? Like Tommy Hilfiger is knocking on your door for the latest fashion tips. >:P>> *rofl* You have so obviously missed the point of these pages. These are OPINION pages. Yeah, Tommy Hilfiger isn't knocking on my door (and thank the stars that he isn't *L* :p), but by talking about what the Sailor Senshi wear I get to discuss cool little random things at my opinion pages, like how I feel that Makoto always gets typecast into pants cause she's the tomboy of the Inner Senshi, or like how I think the Inner Senshi look better in their Super Sailor outfits while the Outer Senshi look better in their regular Senshi outfits. Why do you have to get so sensitive about the fact that I don't like the way Ami dresses? Big deal! It's an opinion page, I'm just ranting to share my views, and you're welcome to share yours politely instead of getting all worked up and making snide cracks about Tommy Hilfiger. <<And you should get rid of that pic of the gay guys on your guestbook page. It's sick.>> What's really sick is your homophobic attitude. That pic is tastefully done, and there is nothing wrong with it. <<You should try to edit your opinion pages. Some of the things you say sound mean and spiteful.>> It sounds that way to you because you're sensitive to things I say about characters that you like and I don't. The fact that I say that Makoto perpetuates the stereotype of anime tomboys (which is, in fact, true) and that Ami tends to wear matronly/conservative dresses (another thing that is true) doesn't make me spiteful and mean. If I called Makoto a lame-ass bitch and Ami a stupid, fucked up nerd, then THAT would be mean and spiteful. If I went to a gay guy's website and called gay guys sick and made snide cracks about Tommy Hilfiger, then THAT would be mean and spiteful. If I edited my opinion pages to satisfy everyone out there who was like you, my opinion pages would have no opinions on them at all. An opinion page will NEVER please everyone because everyone has differing opinions, and that's why at the Sailormoon Citadel I OVERemphasize the fact that I am merely espousing my opinions and nothing more. You are welcome to disagree, and there's no reason to get so riled. It's not like we're discussing the conflict in the Middle East or anything. :p *L* <<I hope you aren't one of those "popular" people in real life who judge people by how they look and how smart or "geeky" they are or look.>> *rofl* Wait, how can a gay guy be popular in real life when real life is overrun by homophobic bigots like you? *L* XD The ironic thing about your statement is that I *am* a nerdy, geeky guy, and not one of those popular people you assumed I am. Just because I like talking about clothing doesn't mean that I judge people on their appearance. Just because I realize that there's more a to a person than the clothes they wear doesn't mean that I can't have opinions about what sort of clothes would look best on and be flattering for a certain person. :p ---------- *sigh* No matter how many times I emphasize that people shouldn't get so riled over mere OPINIONS about anime characters who don't even exist in real life, I know I'll get more flames like this one sooner or later - it's inevitable. *L* ^^; |
