Mizuno Ami - Opinion Piece
| Opinion on Mizuno Ami After Rei and Minako, Ami is my third favorite Inner Senshi (Makoto and Usagi tie for my least favorite)... which isn't that high up when you take into account the fact that I like all the Outer Senshi better than the Inner Senshi, but anyway. ^_^ I explain at Rei and Minako's profiles what I like about them, but what makes me like Ami less than them is basically that all the issues she goes through (such as the "genius with low self-confidence who's afraid that she's a one-dimensional nerd" type of angsty issue) are issues that I went through as well... except I learned to resolve these things in my own mind by the time I reached Ami's age. This does not make me better or smarter or more advanced than Ami or anything like that; I'm just saying that because these issues are things I managed to resolve quite early on, it doesn't interest me to watch someone of Ami's age and brains still having to grapple with those issues. Of course, that's the very reason why some people like Ami so much, but I'm just saying that that's the reason why I personally can't like her as much as I do the Outer Senshi, for instance, all of whom are just as smart but exude a confidence that is partly innate and partly hard-earned. Opinion on Ami's Transformations and Attacks Seeing as I'm a water person and I love the color blue, you'd think I'd like Ami's transformations and attacks a lot, but I don't. :p "Shabon spray" and "Mercury aqua rhapsody" were the biggest pair of jokes I've seen since Dolly Parton's chest, XD and "shine aqua illusion" was just... blah. Ami's watery transformations are alright, especially her Super Sailor transformation, but they cannot compare in any way to Michiru's amazing oceanic transformation sequence. Then again, in my opinion none of the Inner Senshi's transformation sequences or attack sequences compare to those of the Outer Senshi, so. ^^;;; Opinion on Ami's Duds I prefer Ami's Super Sailor Mercury outfit to her Sailor Mercury outfit because the Super Sailor Mercury outfit is drawn better and is more clean/sleek looking. Also, I think Ami looks real nice whenever she wears a vest of some sort. She should do that more often, instead of donning those dippy/dorky/matronly dresses she apparently has large quantities of. *L* ^^; |
