Allanon strode up the Elfitch to the proud city atop the Carolan, admiring the bright pennants flying from the walls and enjoying the morning sun shining into his face. The Druid Sleep had restored his spirits immensely, and he was looking forward to a good century's worth of studying with Elven scholars while the Four Lands were free of trouble.
*at the top of the Elfitch*
Guard: Allanon? Is that really you?
Allanon: *clasps hands with the guard* Well met, old friend. Can you show me around Arborlon today? It's been decades since I've been here.
Guard: No problem, Allanon, come with me. *leads Allanon into the city* And yes, you have been away a long time. For one thing, this city is Arbor-Long, not Arborlon. You should know that.
Allanon: *stops walking* Arbor-Long?
Guard: Yes, that's right.
Allanon: What other changes have taken place since I was last here?
Guard: *stares* What do you mean, "changes"? This has always been Arbor-Long.
Allanon: Uhm, sure. *mutters something derogatory about alternate universes*
Guard: What was that?
Allanon: Nothing. *resumes walking* One thing though, where are all the women? They're usually out and about at this time, are they not?
Guard: *stares again* There aren't any women in Arbor-Long.
Allanon: No women? Then what... How- *blushes furiously* Oh.
Guard: *grins slyly* You really have been out of touch.
Allanon: *fidgets* Uhm, on second thought, I'll be leaving now.
Guard: *puts a companionable arm around Allanon's shoulders*
Allanon: *twitches involuntarily*
Guard: Oh come come, friend. You must stay for the night, at least.
Allanon: *narrows his eyes* Why?
Guard: *smiles innocently at Allanon* Eh heh heh, no reason.
Allanon: Sure. *removes the guard's arm*
*in another part of Arbor-Long*
Tay: Isn't this great, honey?
Wil: *whines* I wanna go home!
*in yet another part of Arbor-Long*
Wren: *signs to Garth* Follow me.
Garth: *makes a face* Alright, but I don't like this place.
Wren: *raises an eyebrow* Really? I'd have thought it was more your style.
Garth: *reddens* You'll pay for that one later.
Wren: *grins* Whatever.
Random Elven Guy: Hey, good-lookin'!!! *puts an arm around Wren*
Wren: *shoves him away* I'm not that kind of woman.
Random Guy: Oh... You're a woman? I thought... Damn. Well, what about your big friend there?
Wren: *smiles sourly* Bye. *drags Garth away*
END *hehe*
